Life is for the living.

for my family. i cherish every moment i have with you guys.

i havent been able to truly focus since last Saturday. We'll see you again Mrs. G...

re-posted from my FB.

when my mind is pre-occupied, i tend to look back at photos/videos and mesh them.

it's one of those things that you dread while on vacation.. receiving THAT phone call.

it's a good thing I read "Tuesdays with Morrie" when I did a long time ago..

1. "After you have wept and grieved for your physical losses, cherish the functions and the life you have left."

2. “This is part of what family is about, not just love, but letting others know there’s someone who is watching out for them. Knowing that your family will be there watching out for you. Nothing else will give you that. Not money. Not fame. Not work.”

3. “As long as we can love each other, and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without ever really going away.”“Death ends a life, not a relationship.”

4. "So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."

5. "The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."

GeekTool

geektool is an amazing program for macs.. just macs. if you're one of the few ppl that actually like customizing your mac, get to know this program. i've seen very clean desktops using geektool, some really cluttered it.. it's almost like widgets but "embedded" on the your wallpaper. basically it's a GUI program for command tools that allow you to display, calendar, dates, time, CPU up time, wifi, weather, etc watever apple script/command combination ppl have come up with

i'm not a programmer so it took me a while .. >5hrs to find scripts and come up with the aesthetics to get it to look clean.. let's just say, this took over my day, and i totally didn't do worrk.. =(

i'm quite satisfied with how my desktop turned out.. took forever to find scripts, i should remember to bookmark.. hahaha..

in short.. here's an example..

what do you guys think?

any questions let me know..

now time to do my paper and study for my exams.. f;alsdkmf[qowemf

Happy New Year!

so it is 1.1.11

Congratulations to my cousin JV and his wife Karina!! Welcome to the family my dear nephew, Kayden Jave!! awesome birthdate ^_^

i wasn't able to complete the 1st round of turbofire due to my hectic schedule.. i almost screwed up my semester trying to catch up to my case logs.. o__O .. so i'll try again this time. i entered the schedule on my calendar alongside the syllabi of my classes.. so now an hour is set aside everyday. hopefully i stick to it. xD

new faster pace for clinical rotations: the fast track of the ER. oh goodness. 12hr shifts.. patient history/physical/diagnosis/treatment every 10-20minutes.. multitasking and juggling. walking really fast. my brain is mush. lol.. but it's a really good learning experience. i see a broad variety of patients!! it is a challenge i am willing to accept. i will get better. which means, focusing on my studies is a priority. so far i haven't done it.. i am already behind in class.. ugh.. lol. trying to catch up now.. on this snowy evening. thank goodness classes have been canceled for tomorrow. need to be productive...

only thing i accomplished was this..
Alcohol Abuse - NP

lol.. i have hundreds of pages to catch up on.. since my ADD is kicking in.. i'll work on my TYPHON patient logs to track my NP clinicals.. woOHoo.. so fast track ER .. in a span of 12hrs.. i've seen 36 patients.. so i have to log all of those.. LMAO.. wat a faiL. ugh and i'm still trying to finish up from last week's 12 pts in the slower fast track.. =( .. one thing i learned on Monday.. don't forget to eat and take a break.. gosh.. brain gets tired fast.. and all that brisk walking from room to room physically tiring. this is why i am conditioning myself via turbofire.. slow and steady improvements.. stepping it up a notch. there are higher expectations now. i'm hoping i dont get kicked out of the program.. LOL.. anyways.. back to studying..

feel free to leave comments or email me anything.. suggestions welcome. thanks ^__^

Turbo Fire

so insanity's 60 days have come and gone. i'm very proud of myself. =)

keeping up with insanity took a toll on my knees. even with the proper form; i was still quite heavy for my own body. it is such a high impact workout, joints have to be taken care of. with the suggestion of my friends, i am taking glucosamine/chondroitin supplements daily. i already take multivitamins and other supplements to boost my metabolism. i've also been much smarter with my food choices. i have this love for flax seed oil.. it adds a slight nutty flavor to my post workout chocolate egg white protein + wheat grass + green superfood concoction. ^__^

well, as for the actual results of the last 63 days: i lost 6lbs because i've gained muscle in places that used to be saggy. sTRONGER!!! i'm more toned/defined. i went down about 2 sizes. which i love, but also hate because the clothes i got over the summer, are now falling off. this ultimately means SHOPPING!!! YAY.. i've also become more cautious about the foods i eat. living a much healthier lifestyle compared to the years of damage i've done to my own body.. i couldn't believe i've been doing that to myself. i have much more energy. OH enDORPHINs.. HAHAHA.

sooo now, since i'm not satisfied with the amount of weight i loss, i will continue working out. since insanity is too much for my joints. mind you, i was crying on day 50 because it was that painful.. i thought i seriously damaged my knees. now i have crepitus. they creak! that has never happened before. sooo.. i looked up other programs.. obviously i'm not a gym person. i went through that as a child, and i only ended up quite self conscious. soo no to the gym. i checked out the beachbody site and that's where i found Turbo Fire !!! oOOoO.. i read the reviews comparing it with insanity and p90x. this is more cardio, choreographed and a much better soundtrack!!! this will definitely keep me going..

after finishing insanity 5 days ago, i took a break. and i just started Day 1.. turbo = speed. i had a hard time keeping up with the moves. i felt like my body wasnt responding as fast. AhH.. after those 30minutes.. my core was feeling that burn.. SOO GOOD.. then a 10min stretch followed. considering i worked the night before, i passed out right after. woke up.. arms, quads, abs, obliques WOW.. i'm excited to start this 120 day journey.. maybe i should start blogging this.. this way i can keep track of the work out and the foods i ate.. i should def start calorie counting.

Day 1: EZ Fire 30 and Stretch 10

Bfast / Post Workout: 16oz of fat free lactaid + scoop of egg white protein + wheat grass + amazing superfood + a squeeze of flax seed oil

Passed out..

Lunch: STARVING = grilled burger w/ am. white cheddar + lettuce + tomato + white bread bun + extra patty w/o trimmings. 4 pieces of watermelon. half of a sweet corn...

most likely i'll go back to sleep since i have work later tonight.. HAHA..

Dinner will most likely consist of a bowl of cheerios + fat free lactaid + squeeze of flax seed oil

work.. run around like crazy.. usually no meal/break.. hahaha..

come home tomorrow morning.. and off to day 2 of turbo fire..

Pre insanity: after graduating from college 2yrs ago, and have been stagnant with weight fluctuating up/down

sooo.. here's my insanity post pix..

hunnie, just do you.

(in a jersey accent of some sort) "hunnie, just do you!"

i think that was probably one of the best pieces of advices i've ever got from an ateh. it's one of those things only an ateh (older sister) can give. i am thankful. grateful, without a doubt. when i can sleep soundly at night, not focusing of what ifs, could've, should'ves.. that's a major improvement.. HAHAHA.. i finally got my 8hrs of sleep!!! oMG.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love - 1 John 4:18

insanity might have had something to do with it. lol. who knows. i'm already crazy for starting it and committing to it. so what else do i have to lose?? More pounds! HAHAHA jk jk .. ^__^ Day 17 and going. woOSh. I feel better, clothes fit better. I'm probably gaining muscle since my weight did go up from the initial -8lbs that i lost. well, weight doesn't matter, since my clothes fit better and i have a better endurance now. i didn't die the last time i played tennis. form was good, and I was actually able to hit especially since i havent picked up a racquet in over a year. for a person that couldn't hold the quadriceps stretch without toppling over, i can now safely hold my right foot back!! ^__^

picking my battles. letting things go. i'm more relaxed. calm. i'm not freaking out as much as i used to. i can't help but smile more often. a huge weight has been lifted!!

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.

-1 Corinthians 13:4-7

thank you, ateh. thank you. <3

Letting Go.

the funny thing about mental health / psych nursing class is that we're suppose to recognize these things in our patients, however, the first step is to be aware of one's self. when i found myself reacting to the topics, i realized i had a lot of growing up to do. countertransference. watch out for that one. i was definitely caught off guard.

as a person who grew up with always having a plan: syllabi, itineraries, outlines, backups.. there are a lot of things I cannot control, but I'd like to be prepared. Even with trying to expect the possible outcomes, there's always that curve ball life throws at you. as i struggled to read through the pages of my psych book, i looked within myself and my past interactions. what did i do? why? how? did i miss out on a lot of opportunities? what did i say? did it match with what my face and body were trying to say? some ppl can read me. it definitely affects our relationship with everyone..

i just have to learn to let things go. some things i can never change. dwelling in it will destroy the balance. there's also the art of timing. there's a time and place for everything. come back to it some other time in hopes for a resolution. do things ever end? no not really. it keeps going. the decisions we make now, will affect what happens next. the ripple effect, right? i could be wrong, just a speculation.

i am learning to let go. react when i have to. pick my battles. my mental professor told me that i worry too much.. i shouldn't stress out so much. i took his advice and here i am. my neurologist thanks him. my neurologist told me i should go out, and not limit myself so much. HAHAHA. -=sigh=-

Consider your own life—how many times a day does some situation pop up that leads to moments of frustration and anxiety? Surrendering your head to your heart in those moments will lead you to balance and fulfillment. As you listen to your spirit, peace follows. So follow your spirit. Build your foundation in your heart. Love must be your innermost and spontaneous response towards every person you encounter. Say to yourself inside, "I just love." Use these words as a key to start the engine running in your heart and watch life brighten with new love and understanding. Surrender to your new awareness and let love unfold the purpose of creation to you. - Sara Paddison, Hidden Power of the Heart

loving people is what i do. and that involves a give and take. compromises. listening and surrendering. it's how we grow as humans. eventually we will reach the top of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs: self-actualization. everything will be alright. it does not mean i'm gonna stop caring, it just means i'll learn to back off and let you be. you have your own path, your own life. our paths will cross, and we'll see from there. right now, i'll just enjoy the moment and savor it. who knows what will happen next.. i sure don't; do you?

True love doesn't have a happy ending because true love never ends. Letting go is one way of saying I love you. - Anonymous

Heads Up.. Finding Preceptors

soo heads up to all NP students, just so you know, since I wasn't aware of this until recently, we have to arrange our preceptors by ourselves. The school doesn't set it up for you like when we were in nursing school/undergrad. We must go search for a NP or physician willing to train us.. hahaha.. they are out there. It's just a matter of finding one that's free, since there are other students asking for them...

start asking your advisors how your program works, and what are the acceptable types of preceptors for your specific program.

for example. I'm allowed to arrange my clinicals in my place of work as long as it's not the floor I currently work in. It's almost like a mini-interview for internships and selling yourself. Start searching early.. i'm allowed to ask NPs and physicians.. I will work my way up to physicians as soon as I am comfortable enough with conducting a thorough H&P and presenting a diagnosis..

start networking, getting ur name out there.. i start my practicum in the fall of 2010, but i started now... and then searching will start all over again in the summer for spring 2011, etc..

check out VA clinics, urgent care centers, etc.. if they don't have a position, ask them if they have another institution that they would recommend.. don't give up..

aight that's it for now.. back to working on my case study, email me for questions.. good luck to everyone ^__^

things to do over the summer before clinical rotations:

BLS recert
ACLS initial
Master Clinical Skills & Physical Diagnoses --> be comfortable with H&P
review medications, labs, etc
STUDY !!!

spend time with my loved ones.. ^___^

i haven't been this angry for a LONG time. just shows how much hatred i've managed to suppress in order to function.

2nd semester of grad schooL..

so i'm a bit frazzled. taking 3 grad courses was a bit much. but i had to do this so i can have a summer to focus on the one class i'm dreading. CSPD. clinical skills & physical diagnosis. lecture online and labs. while i was searching for information regarding preceptors for the upcoming fall, the list came up of courses that i might need clinicals for this class too. i have to speak to my advisor and clarify this whole clinical rotations thing. i need to find a preceptor who's willing to guide me... i hope. HAHA. i'm nervous.

i also need to renew my BLS by this summer. and hopefully finally take my ACLS. i'm so behind. sigh. this is why 3 grad courses was necessary this semester. LOL. summer 2010 will be nuts. fall 2010 will be even crazier.

as long as i pass with a B, i think i'll take it. this is something that i have to accept. i'll try my best, but as of now, i have other priorities. mental health in primary care is actually coinciding with my beliefs. i was tearing when i heard my professor talk about trust and relationships. not just with clients, but as a good person. we constantly work on it. communication. honesty. love. what keeps a person? what motivates them? what happens when they lose that some "thing" that keeps them going?

i snickered. the days before this very lecture were intense. hahaha. i found my motivation. it was a lot of staring into a wall and self-reflection, but it was a "eureka, i found it!" moment. i realized a lot of things about myself. i was surprised.

to find a balance between life and grad schooL. yup.

there is an ultimate goaL. achieved through perseverance.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 NIV

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Eccl 4:9-12 NIV

baby steps...

Everything will be ok ...
... If it's alright with you, then it's alright with me ...
Baby let's take this time, let's make new memories.....

StiLL in the progrAm!!!

OmG.. thank you!!!

i don't know how or what was going through my brain while i was taking that exam.. all I knew was that i was struggling. thinking at a much higher level and applying everything to a patient. diagnosing a patient when given a certain scenario in a short amount of time. OMG! i cried for 3 days after that exam. only to calm down and attempt to focus on another quiz for research.. =\

Grad school is hard. I'm not going to lie. I've been reading and reading.. I want my life back. I miss seeing people. Friends, family, co-workers. sigh.. sometimes, i wonder if the sacrifice is worth it at times.. blAh.

anyways, back to techy things.. this is the only thing keeping me sane.. since i forgot to save the iWeb file on my old MBP before the crash. my Me.com site will be retiring, and I'd have to start a new one unfortunately. I'll have to reorganize, find a new direction maybe.. in the meantime, i meant to post this a while back, but didn't have the time..

enjoy... if anyone can help me figure out how set up a page where people can download recorded audio lectures using iWeb and Me, that would be fantastic! a turn around would be cool also using a host.. and i can link ppl over there from my current site.. ^__^

thAnks!

New Goal: to Pass

Grad SchooL. my goal is just to pass. that's it...

as far as Patho went. my grade is a B+. It's gonna be an adjustment on how to read those questions. stupid mistakes. GRRrR..

research is gonna be another one. i thought i was doing fairly decent with the postings until the midterm. which i FAiLED miserably with a 72.. my 92 average dropped down to a B-.. RAH i'm barely passing.. o__O.. OMG... still truckin.. gotta keep trying.. i have to make up for it now..

i'm gonna slow it down next semester, pending if i pass this semester. i'm praying, hoping, i don't get kicked out. pharmacology is next. i know it's hard. i NEED to go back to work. i have to apply what i learned. and i am broke =( .. i thought i was gonna be able to do work and go to school at the same time this semester. certainly not the case. GRAD SCHOOL is DEFINITELY wAY different... OMG.. wtf did i do to myself?!

migraines here and there. but not as bad as before. i'm learning to manage stress better i guess? i'm eating differently. chocolate is definitely a trigger =( .. so are raw onions so i have to avoid those in salads.. sigh..

let's hope i improve my grades and i don't get kicked out of the program.. mom's gonna be disappointed, i'll be a total mess if i get kicked out.. and that's a sign that it was never meant to be.. yup..

as for other things, my geekiness came out and i was determined to figure this out.. how to record desktop activity with audio unlike the screen recording capabilities on quicktime X sans audio. thank you fellow youtube users for showing me the way. and here's the end result from last night after my first video lecture for patho.. my brain needed a medical break.. and needed something more techy.. LOL..

so what do you think..

i'll probably end up doing how to videos someday.. cause i'm a dork.. LOL.. yay

now on to part 2 of the video lecture and then to 10 imaginary patients.. rAHhh..

pAniC MoDE?!

Everything that could've gone wrong went wrong!

Just as I was finishing up chapter 19. Word crashed. I was like.. wat the heck?! it froze? you know that spinning beach ball on the mac. I didn't want to do a Force Quit so I let it sit for 10 minutes. Nothing. The last save was about 15 minutes ago, which was 2 slides.. ARGH.. maybe auto recovery would pick it up? I have to continue with my work.. so i force quit..

auto recover picked up where i left off, and i saved a copy of it.. as i'm scrolling down, i see the formatting is frozen. text-wrapping is stuck from the previous page. there is no picture there, but word thinks there is one. i tried copying and pasting the file to a new blank document but it just said that it's unable to save file - not enough memory. wAT?! everything is in read only mode?! wat the heck...

my office databases are also corrupt. they can't be found.. so i begin the process of uninstalling. meaning. deleting pLists and preferences, microsoft user data, etc. ugGh.. in the meantime.. i scramble to go to my iMac and see if the word document can be salvaged. nope. faiL. that fiLe is corrupt. and my MS office on the MBP is messed up when it froze. uGH... i decided to ditch chapter 19 and move on to chapter 20. i didn't know how to recover that file aside from starting all over.. i don't have time.. it's 4pm already!

6pm: i decided to start printing my other notes from chapters 12-18. at the same time, i'm going back and forth between my iMac and my macbook pro with the rolling office chair, one desk to the next, back and forth.. i'm multi-tasking..

730pm: warning on the printer. no black ink. both the 220 and 221. wtf?! i'm like great!! ugH.. hMM still early, i can make it to staples.. lemme just make sure.. if we have paper.. NOPE, none either.. perfect... so i jump into the shower.. 8pm out the door off to staples.. i'm very picky about my paper. 98 bright, 22lb. normally i'd go thicker, but i'm broke. i have no job. the ink is my priority right now. they finally have the Canon 220 combo pack in stock. last one just for me. i took it. $50. instead of $60 for 3 individual ones. got the multi 221 pack also. another $50. got some colored pens too.. they didnt have the ones i normally get, but i'll try these. hopefully, these will last me. they also seem brighter, and livelier. as long as they're the anti-check fraud pens from Uni-Ball. i'm ^__^ i only use the green ink, but they never sell them in bulk so i have to buy the pack of colors.. LOL.. sigh, at least i think this time, these colors look like they're legible..

840pm: back to the house. dragged the box of paper down the basement. installed the ink cartridges. back to work... thank you natural keyboard. eases some of the pain from all the typing i've been doing all week. @__@. i have a feeling, CTS is gonna be torture this year..

1130pm: figured out how to fix the corrupt word file. convert it to RTF by using save as. i figured, it simplifies the format, right? maybe it'll remove that weird text wrapping. i tried it out. then copy and paste that to a blank word doc. hAZZAH! fixEd! i didn't need to start all over.. thank gooodness.. that was over 6 pages worth of notes.. and i still had a while to go

230am: finally finished.. apparently, i tend to elaborate on a lot of things. 6 pages ended up as 16 pages.. DONE!

uGh.. time to study. read my notes. technically doing those notes 12-20, i've been studying. essentially, i really have to review chapters 4-11 more than anything. right?

i have take the exam sunday morning. so i can read for research.. and do my research hw and quiz by monday.. i have class on tuesday.. @__@ ugh.. this is NuTs..

The Cell

smallest functional unit necessary for life. so tiny, but sooooo very important..

why do we go over this every single year?!

it's because most of the disease processes are initiated at the cellular level and from there a disease can affect an organ, particular tissue type, or even the entire organism...

they are responsible for processing our food, turning it into NRG (energy, get it? lol), synthesize complex molecules, and of course replication if they are capable of doing so..

so here we go..
Cell and Tissue Characteristics

Advanced Pathophysiology

so this is a preview of pretty much of what's taking most of my time, why I'm not working anymore. why i'm so jittery, and anxious, such a spazz. so this is chapter 7.. LOL.. i'm suppose to have chapters 4-20.. i only have 4-13 complete.. i have a long way to go.. before my first exam that covers 17 chapters this Saturday.. uGH.. passing is an 80. not to mention the case studies that were also done.. LOL.. a lot of typing.. rAH..

An Understanding.

so everyone is entitled to their opinion, here's mine.

Days short of my one year anniversary as a RN, I find myself watching from the sidelines the passion my fellow co-workers have for their jobs and their patients...

As most of you have heard, as of 7am yesterday, 3rd day of Jun 2009, the unionized nurses of EHMC were locked out. As a result, informational picketing commenced. At first, I didn't quite understand what was going on. All I knew was that, from then on, I was unemployed.

Staffing issues were the deal breaker for negotiations. Safe staffing. Numerous times, I've witnessed the floor file for unsafe staffing because of the "ridiculous" nurse to patient ratio. Now, what is the ideal patient ratio? Well, it depends on the acuity, the level of care a patient needs. Nowadays, people are becoming more sick with multiple diagnoses and treatments. We use a program called "OptiLink" that helps us organize staffing as well as project census with the ratio. According to the site it's a "Patient Classification System" designed to:
  • display real patient demand, enabling you to balance assignments: meet cost, quality, and staff satisfaction goals on each shift
  • measure real-time acuity adjusted actual census: deploy and manage required staff precisely and efficiently
We are able to assign Low, Medium, High, and Extreme to a patient depending on the classifications the staff have developed. High is assigned if the patient falls into one of the factors, the most common are: total dependent care with ADLs, high risk for falls or injuries, procedure or treatment requiring more than one hour. Don't be surprised if a lot of these patients are complete care. They can't wash, feed, or even turn themselves. Some of them sundown to the point where they become violent, where we have to call security. Even then, there's not enough staff in security to cover the rest of the hospital. Imagine RNs spending a lot of time trying to de-escalate the situation, risking their lives to help the patient who has no control and while protecting the rest of the floor and staff. The time spent away from the rest of the patients accumulates, and by that time, the nurse has missed their break, and is now trying to catch up with the rest of their duties before the shift is over. Rushing. An increase in staffing would allow the nurses to distribute the patients more evenly. It's safer. So basically, what I'm saying, is that why are we using this system, a lot of the patients are actually HIGH, and staffing doesn't provide more RNs? Not only RNs, but the PCAs and probably sitters also. It's hard.

The claims of average nursing salary over $100k ?!?! What is that? I don't see it. If they do, it's like 14% of them. Those RNs have earned it. Their 30+ years experience. The lives they've saved and helped. The new RNs they've trained and retained. The MAGNET recognition 2 years in a row!!!

Now about overtime. Overtime happens because of the acuity. So many things have to be done in such a short amount of time. More people to available to work, would mean less overtime. Safer staffing.

Extra 30 minutes without pay? Sure. 15minutes before and 15minutes after. How is that going to work with families and their schedule? Kids have to go to school, someone has to pick them up, babysitting?

How come more $$$ was spent to hire temp RNs? They have room, board, transportation. As I saw them enter and leave via coach bus. I saw the ones leaving looking so tired and overwhelmed. They're called "scabs." I don't know why; I'm assuming a metaphor. They are nurses, too, doing their job. I quite don't agree with the term. It's so harsh. Perhaps, it was the experience from 3yrs ago where the temp RNs hired cursed, gave the finger, and were mean to them. I do hope they understand how stressful the job is. Patient population has dramatically changed from 20 years ago.

As for the media, the proposed contract that was offered to the union... unacceptable. The use of vague words leaves management to use loop holes. What is the difference between "no changes" and "no significant changes"? It's like handing over a blank check.. too dangerous.. would you sign something without reading the fine print?

i'm done for now...

First Adventures with a HD Video Camera

the first day I got the camera...

after a few hours of charging the battery and half an hour of cutting and pasting and adding text with iMovie 08.. here's the end result hahaha.. let me know.. unfortunately i can't figure out how to make the video smaller or make the blog page wider.. so i'm placing the link instead.. feel free to comment.. HAHA, this is a learning process after all..

next up.. cooking videos perhaps? pics? my adventures in  the kitchen? the process from finding fresh ingredients, to the chopping block, the cooking, and serving.. HAHAHA.. i'll drag the rest of the family into the adventures.. some one has to hold the camera.. or better yet, some one has to demonstrate how to do these things.. =D

i realized that as far as my skills go, manual mode isn't do-able when such ephemeral moments like these need to be captured. when i want to be artistic with "still-life" i will do manual mode. otherwise, it's full out automatic with pre-set modes. Learning to effectively switch lenses fast and composing a shot is another story HAHAHA.
